Dina Shafey Scott

Senior Director, Learning and Development

Dina Shafey Scott is a senior director of learning and development, based in Arabella Advisors’ Washington, DC office. In this role, Dina examines and updates Arabella’s approach to orienting, training, and coaching team members across the firm. She is also developing a learning strategy, including reimagining onboarding processes and the systems employees use to access learning and professional development opportunities. This enhanced strategy will enable Arabella’s team members to more effectively support systems change and social impact through their work with clients.  

Dina brings a wealth of expertise in curriculum development and organizational learning and training strategy to Arabella. She has significant experience in assessing and developing strategic approaches for learning and development, both for ongoing and point-in-time training needs. Her four-year tenure working with the Legal Services Corporation (LSC)’s 133-grantee nationwide network is a testament to her skills. During this time, she created a comprehensive learning environment, baselining, assessing, and developing on-demand and in-time training modules and courses about LSC regulations, performance standards, and congressional task force efforts, among other areas. She also served as the director of training and education for the University of Maryland’s Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, where she created curricula for a range of faculty, staff, and students. Her expertise in these areas makes Dina a trusted leader in a variety of firmwide initiatives.   

Dina volunteers regularly with Girls on the Run as a coach and curriculum advisor. She has a BA in political science from SUNY Buffalo, an MPA from the University of the District of Columbia, and a PhD from the University of Maryland, College Park in curriculum and instruction, specializing in minority and urban education.
